What am I giving up if I don’t work through the entire calibration process?

Precision. If you don’t need fine granularity (1 yard) between your chipping
clubs, then the full calibration is not necessary. We created this tool for you. Use
as little or as much as you prefer and realize you can always do more calibration
later.

What is meant by calibration?

It is the process of determining how far your ball will go for a variety of setup
conditions and backswing lengths.

I only use 2 clubs for chipping, does this system offer any benefit to me?

Even with 2 clubs you can calibrate to as many as 36 different chipping
yardages. Not to shabby.

If I calibrate my clubs on a flat green, what do I do when I’m playing on agreen that is sloped up or downhill?

Not to worry. This is no different from when you do most of your practice
putting on a flat green. Many have been taught that when putting or in this case
chipping on a green that is sloped uphill, we have to imagine that the hole is
further than actual hole. Depending on the slope of the green we might pick an
imaginary hole that is 2 feet further, or perhaps 6 feet further depending on the
severity of the slope.
Conversely, the opposite happens when putting or chipping on a green that is
sloped downhill. We have to imagine an imaginary hole that is some number of
feet or yard closer than the actual hole.

I rarely make solid contact with the ball while chipping, how will this systembenefit me?

You are correct, solid contact is critical for successful chipping. The system will
help with this by motivating you to practice your both your swing tempo and
ability to make solid contact. It may sound silly, but once you know that if you can
make solid contact on your ball with you regular chipping tempo that you will hit
the shot close nearly every time. You will be very motivated to practicing.
All that is required to make solid contact is repetitive practice. I like to do this at
home with a few indoor foam balls and a small indoor golf mat. I use the short
grass because you get immediate feedback. You only have a to spend a few
minutes a session s few times per week to see significant improvement. Once
you’re done it and calibrated your “THE SPOT Golf” yardage book, better results
and lower scores will be automatic. Enjoy.
